UNIVERSITY'S EXPECTATIONS FOR STUDENT CONDUCT

REPORTING AN INCIDENT

  • Incidents that are reported to the Office of Community Standards will be reviewed by the Director of Community Standards and a determination will be made about  the next steps (i.e. if a referral to the University Conduct Process is warranted, which setting will be utilized, etc.).
  • Submit an incident report online at:  bit.ly/csc-report
  • Please know that incidents involving the following alleged violations are required to be investigated by the University's Deputy Title IX Coordinator:
    • Sexual assault
    • Sexual misconduct
    • Dating or domestic violence
    • Stalking
    • Conduct that creates a hostile environment (sexual harassment)

INSIGHT ABOUT THE CONDUCT PROCESS

  • The University Conduct Process is managed by the Office of Community Standards.
  • The four Conduct Process Settings include:
    • Meeting (with Hall Staff, if a student lives in a residence hall)
    • Conference
    • Hearing
    • Administrative Hearing (for Title IX-related issues, incuding sexual assault, sexual misconduct, dating/domestic violence, stalking and sexual harassment)
  • In addition to these four settings, the Office of Community Standards may need to meet with students informally in order to gather more information about an alleged incident, to clarify students’ involvement, and/or to determine whether the student conduct process is the appropriate setting through which to resolve the matter.  It is possible that the Office of Community Standards may need to meet with students to facilitate resolution of a conflict or to address behavior that is not clearly in violation of University Standards of Conduct.  In these cases, the Office of Community Standards will document the meeting and maintain this documentation for internal purposes during the time of a student’s enrollment at the University.

      • a list of ND ID #s or netIDs
    • Please allow at least one week for records to be reviewed
